Latest astrological “weather forecast” from my friend:

LEO NEW MOON – Sunday 23 July, exact at 10.45am BST, 5.45am EDT

This is the first of two Leo New Moons in the next month and it certainly has some fire and passion to it! New Moons are a time of new beginnings when we leave old patterns and anything that no longer serves us behind in the dark of the moon and plant seeds that will gradually blossom and grow over the month ahead. This can take the form of setting intentions for ourselves, or it can happen quite naturally because the New Moon is such a potent time and has the power to set an energetic ball in motion that takes us for a ride. Whatever we are focusing on around the time of the New Moon will have a tendency to take form and grow as the month progresses. This particular New Moon is in Leo, which is a fire sign, and if we visualise fire it starts as a little flame and very quickly spreads, given the right conditions, so that it becomes a raging fire. If we don’t tend to it carefully then it can very easily burn out of control. As such, fire signs are very enthusiastic, infectious, lively, courageous, creative, forceful and possess a tremendous zest for life. This is certainly the flavour of this particular Moon, as not only is it in Leo but it is also joined by Mars, who has just moved into Leo. There is a sense that anything is possible with this Moon and that we could have the drive and motivation to courageously step outside of our comfort zone.

Leo is a very creative sign which encourages us to take control of our own destiny and shape it out of the strength of our will and passion. With the New Moon in Leo we could imagine ourselves as a blank slate, or a piece of clay that we can mould in any way we want. Leo wants us to allow our special and unique nature to truly shine! This is certainly not the sign of the wallflower; it is the sign of creative actualisation which brings a sense that we are masters of our own destiny and can become anything we want to be. While Cancer symbolises the formation of the ego, or a sense of self, borne out of our childhood experience, Leo represents the full expression of that sense of self. Thus, self-expression is part of the Leo experience and can take many forms, such as painting, acting, performing, singing, dancing and the many other forms of creative expression that exist, including procreation. Children come under the Leo banner, as they come from the womb and are very much our creation. Leo also represents the inner child who is very playful, uninhibited, spontaneous and likes to have fun. During this Moon it could be good to nurture that child within us and focus on following our bliss; listening to our heart and doing what brings us the most joy. If we do that then we will doubtless be moving in the right direction!

Mars has just entered Leo and is sitting right next to the Sun and Moon for this lunation. Mars is the planet that acts on our desires and represents our motivation and drive. He is the action planet! He is quite at home in Leo, and encourages us to get off our proverbial behinds and do what really, truly brings us joy! There is something quite passionate and impulsive about this Moon and so we could have some quite strong urges to take control of our destiny and create the life we truly want for ourselves. This is the kind of energy that helps us do the things we have always wanted to do but never had the courage to actually make happen. It could make us much braver and willing to take a risk, so when we set our intentions for this Moon we should aim high and be willing to follow through on them, because there will be some force behind them! Leo rules the heart and with Mars in Leo we are encouraged to act from our heart and follow its desires. The heart is so much more intelligent than the mind!

Uranus is also forming a challenging aspect to the Sun, Moon and Mars during this Moon, although it is an out of sign aspect, which means it isn’t quite as strong. However, it has been very strong all week long, so it is still very relevant indeed as we will have already been feeling its effects. Uranus can make us feel like we want to bust out and do something completely different and will make us far less tolerant of any restrictions we may be feeling at the moment. This is the planet that urges us to break out of our safe, predictable routine and step outside of our comfort zone. This Moon could be the time for us to make necessary changes in our lives and to step away from any situations or states of being that we have outgrown or which have become limiting, restricting or oppressive. We could well be braver and bolder than at other times, or it could simply be that we can’t take any more and we have no choice but to make changes!

There is a sense of excitement that comes with Uranus squaring Mars, the Sun and Moon, but it could also make things feel quite volatile, unstable and insecure. We could feel strong urges to express our true self and our emotions, even if it may seem a bit out of character, or shocking. We could also be the recipient of someone else’s temper or shocking behaviour. It is quite likely that we will feel a bit rebellious or impatient and we could feel overwhelmed with the sense that we need to make changes and we need to do it now! We may feel passions, desires and even anger coming out of the blue and demanding expression. Anything that we have been holding in could come bursting out, as we have a strong urge to get everything off our chest. It is far better to get everything out into the open, rather than having it bubbling away under the surface! This is an ideal time to be completely honest about whatever has become intolerable to us, and we may have no choice in the matter anyway! Note that this energy has already been with us all week and peaks today, Thursday 27 July.

Pluto and Jupiter are also working up to a challenging square aspect that will be exact on August 4th. Pluto is the planet of soul, power and transformation while Jupiter is the planet of growth and expansion, so we could feel urges that come from the depths of our souls urging us to transcend our own limitations so that we can really blossom and grow. This aspect could also make us feel a bit claustrophobic and acutely aware of where we feel a loss of personal freedom and are being held back from moving forward with our lives. We could feel powerful urges to spread our wings and fly and to break free of any restrictions, real or imagined. Much like the Uranus aspect, we will very likely be quite intolerant of anyone or anything that seems to be holding us down or curtailing our freedom in any way. Jupiter also represents beliefs and philosophies, so it is quite possible that we will experience a metamorphosis of our beliefs and faith during this time. We could also experience some rather extreme beliefs coming from other people, or we may be forced to stick up for what we believe in and trust the power of our convictions.

The Sabian symbol for the New Moon, at 1° Leo, is “Blood rushes to a man’s head as his vital energies are mobilised under the spur of ambition.” As Rudyar says, “Leo depicts rising of energy from the heart to the head, a “mentalisation” process. However, this process is a potentially dangerous one.” This could mean that we feel things “coming to a head” and experience some kind of explosion as whatever has been suppressed come bursting out! This could be a very good thing, as what is in our hearts comes bursting through to our conscious minds, or it could also be destructive. We have all experience that explosion in the head at some point or other! Combine this with the Sabian symbol of Mars, at 2° Leo: “An epidemic of mumps” and we have a sense that the fire could indeed spread out of control, or that whatever is in our hearts during this time has the chance to take hold and multiply. There is something infectious about this symbol, and it brings an image of thoughts, feelings or ideas spreading like wild fire! I think we just need to set those intentions and see where they take us!

Certainly this is a passionate New Moon and it seems like a really good one for setting some heart felt intentions based on what we truly want for ourselves. It might be good to contemplate what constitutes us following our bliss and what brings us our greatest joy. It does seem like we may experience a sense of certain situations becoming intolerable, so that we have no choice but to make a change. Uranus could well bring some epiphanies that seem to come out of the blue, giving us some insight into what needs to change and how. Mars gives us the courage, passion and motivation to actually make things happen, rather than just dreaming about what we might like to do. It could also make us a bit impulsive and reactionary, leading us to take risks we wouldn’t normally take. This Moon doesn’t feel like it is going to be particularly comfortable, but possibly that is a good thing! Leo wants us to truly shine and express our own special, unique gifts, and I sense that this Moon will make us all too aware of what is stopping us from doing just that! We just need to remember the greatest gift of Leo and keep listening to our heart. It will never steer us wrong.

Much love
xoxo

Astrological “weather forecast” from my friend relating to today’s Lunar Eclipse:

AQUARIUS FULL MOON / PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPE – Monday 7 August, exact at 7.10pm BST, 2.10pm EDT.

This Full Moon has the capacity to bring radical change into our lives, especially if we have been resisting the need for change and have allowed any areas of our lives to become stuck or stagnant. Not only is the moon reaching its emotional peak in the revolutionary sign of Aquarius, but this is a Lunar Eclipse, representing the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new one. Change is afoot! Eclipses tend to accelerate our evolution and help us to release anything that we might not have previously had the courage to let go of in order to help us move forward and grow. The Lunar Eclipse emphasises the South Node of the Moon, which represents our past, and asks us to allow old patterns, relationships or situations to slip away in order to allow new growth to occur. This is all the more poignant as the Moon and the South Node are in Aquarius, symbolising the need to liberate ourselves from the conditioning of the past so that we can allow our special, unique nature to truly shine through. The best thing we can do is just allow whatever needs to just fall away and not resist necessary change.

Full Moons involve an opposition between the Sun and Moon and often have a big impact on our emotions and relationships as they reach their peak. The Sun is in expressive, playful and creative Leo, sitting directly opposite the Moon in eccentric, rebellious and visionary Aquarius. Aquarius comes after Capricorn, the sign that shows us how to conform to societal and parental standards and teaches us what we “should” or “ought to” do or be. Aquarius is a reaction to this, because conforming and abiding by the rules of society tend to repress and suppress our own unique, special nature and stop us from thinking for ourselves. Aquarius is the revolutionary, the rebel, the non-conformist who encourages us to think outside of the box and peel back the layers of conditioning that are preventing us from knowing who we really, truly are at our core, rather than just being one of the herd. Leo encourages us to find the confidence to allow our unique, special nature to truly shine in the world and to take charge of our own, special destiny, shaping it with the strength of our own will. There is a lot of pressure in life to conform, so it is very easy to suppress our individual nature so that we don’t stand out like a sore thumb or get in trouble! However, the Leo Aquarius axis dares us to be different and to shine our own special, unique rays out into the world!

Aquarius represents the long term memory and holds information and memories from past lives that remind us of who we really are. As such, anything that has been repressed or suppressed in this or other lifetimes has the potential to be released during this Full Moon Eclipse. The South Node in Aquarius holds information such as old trauma, memories of our unique nature that we have suppressed as well as talents and abilities long forgotten or buried. When something traumatic happens we may tend to detach from emotional body and leave parts of ourselves behind, then project our fear of it happening again onto situations in the present and those close to us. This Full Moon/Eclipse has the potential to make us more aware of anything that has been buried or suppressed including guilt, feelings of being judged for being ourselves which leads to shame, so that we can release ourselves from it all once and for all. Of course, this process could make us feel like we have gone a bit mad, as we receive random thoughts, insights and epiphanies that seem to come from the blue, but ultimately it could be very freeing as we reclaim parts of ourselves that we have left behind along the way. The messages are coming from the universe, because we are finally ready to hear them.

One of the gifts of Aquarius is the ability to detach from our egos and empty ourselves of emotion so that we can see ourselves and our lives more objectively. This helps us to understand what needs to be purged in order for us to be free. It helps the individuation process which takes us back to our true nature. It is quite possible that this Moon will somehow allow us to see how we have been repeating patterns or holding back our true nature out of shame or fear of judgement, or how a traumatic event from our past has been repeating on playback and holding us prisoner. The Aquarian Full Moon invites us to step outside of our comfort zone, think outside the box and bring out our inner anarchist, rebel and visionary! Wherever Aquarius or its ruler, Uranus, is found in our chart shows the area of life that we tend to operate differently in and refuse to conform, so those areas will be highlighted during this Moon. We have a chance for some amazing liberation and deconditioning here and could well experience some accelerated soul growth.

The Jupiter Pluto square is a big part of this Moon as not only is it peaking this on Friday of this week but is also forming an aspect to the Sun and Moon. Pluto’s aspect to the Sun brings the potential for profound transformation that could be the result of some kind of crisis that forces us to take our destiny into our own hands and make necessary change in our lives. The crisis could involve our sense of purpose, and we may feel the urge to eliminate any conditions or beliefs that are preventing us from realising our true, individual sense of purpose or destiny. Luckily Jupiter is in harmonious aspect to the Sun and Moon, helping us to believe in ourselves and boost our confidence so that we can allow ourselves to shine. Jupiter brings optimism and faith in ourselves and the belief that ultimately everything happens for a reason. Pluto and Jupiter are poking and prodding us to grow and expand beyond our limitations and also to really trust in our intuition and sixth sense. The process may not be comfortable and our faith might be tested somewhat. We may also find it hard to know what the truth is as people around us spout their version of the truth with the utmost conviction! We are asked to trust that part of ourselves that somehow knows without knowing why or how it knows. We are asked to listen to our guts.

Interestingly enough, Neptune is a very big part of the picture as he is forming aspects to many of the personal planets, including Mercury, who is about to turn retrograde on the 12th of August. Again, we are asked to trust our intuition when all around us may not be very clear and we may have difficulty knowing what is real and what is fact or fiction. Mercury is a very logical and rational planet, but when about to go retrograde and in aspect to Neptune our thinking could become a bit more cloudy and we could find it hard to think straight. Our intuitive faculty will be much heightened, however, and we should pay attention to our dreams, hunches and the subtext of whatever we are dealing with. Neptune is also forming a harmonious trine aspect with Venus in Cancer, which will help us to connect with each other’s true nature and spirits and to relate to one another with compassion, empathy and unconditional love. This aspect should allow us to really open up and trust so that we can show our vulnerability to one another, which is a beautiful thing.

At the same time, Neptune in challenging aspect to the Sun could make us feel quite unclear about our true purpose, which could make us feel quite confused about where we are going in life. We could experience some kind of identity crisis, but it is all part of a process whereby we are letting go of ego attachment and connecting with our true, spiritual purpose. In the meantime, we could feel quite wobbly as new information and messages come flooding in and walls of delusion are torn down! This is a very important time in our evolution, and while we may feel a bit lost , vulnerable and overwhelmed at times, something is passing away that has been blocking us, and the path ahead will become clearer in due time. We still have the Total Eclipse on 21 August ahead of us! This is an intense month of Eclipses and it is quite likely that we will feel quite different by the end of it! I sense that we will be a lot closer to the truth of our being.

The Sabian symbol for the Midpoint between the Sun and Moon, at 16° Scorpio is: “A girl’s face breaking into a smile” which Rudyar describes as “the fervent reaching out on the part of the young of heart to new experiences. Faith in life and other human beings enables us to go forth toward relationships with whatever attracts our senses or stirs our imagination.” The symbol for the Sun, at 16° Leo is: “The storm ended, all nature rejoices in brilliant sunshine” which Rudyar describes as: “The surge of life and love after a major crisis. How brilliant the light after the long “night of the soul”! The battered, but unconquered consciousness finds itself exalted in the marriage of sunbeams and rising sap. This indeed is “Release” – light and life singing in the cleansed and refreshed mind, flooded for a while by the waters of feeling” and speaks of “THE JOY AND POWER OF NEW BEGINNINGS” The Sabian Symbol for Uranus, the ruler of this Moon, at 29° Aries is: “ The music of the spheres” which Rudyar describes as “Attunement to Cosmic Order. The message to the seeker for meaning which is implied in this symbol is TO LISTEN TO THE INNER VOICE; to listen without personalising this Voice in a glamour-producing manner. It is the Voice of the Whole, of which one begins to realise that one is a tiny little part – yet a significant part, for every note of the universal Chord has its place and its ineradicable meaning.”

We all have a special and unique part to play in this story we call life and this Moon is an invitation to connect with our true nature and understand our greater purpose! This Moon could help liberate us from all the “shoulds” and “shouldn’ts” and awaken us to parts of ourselves that have long since been buried. The potential is definitely present for old traumatic memories to be brought to the surface, but this is ultimately a gift that could allow us to free ourselves from fear and reclaim parts of ourselves that we have left behind. It’s important to be alert to any thoughts, feelings or anything out of the ordinary that could have a message for us. Aquarian energy can make us feel a bit crazy, but ultimately it is just breaking down the old stories so that we can break through to the other side. In order to move closer to our true spiritual potential we have to let go of old conditioning, thus allowing ourselves to think outside of the box and see reality from a different perspective. In order to become more enlightened we need to detach from our identity and egos and realise that we are not separate from God, the Divine, the Creator, or whatever you want to call it. This is the gift of Aquarius. It is a breaking down process so that we can see the truth of who we are, while Leo encourages us to shine that truth out into the world!

Much Love

Here’s the forecast for Monday"s Leo New Moon, which is also a Solar Eclipse:

LEO NEW MOON/TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE – Monday 21 August, exact at 7.30pm BST, 2.30pm EDT!

Well, people have been talking about this New Moon/Total Solar Eclipse for a very long time now and it is indeed a big one! Another thing that makes it special and unique is that it is the second New Moon in the sign of Leo and we usually only have one. An energetic ball was set in motion with the Lunar Eclipse on 23 July and we are now in the midst of Eclipse season. This is a turning point; a time of shifts and change, when we experience breakdowns that lead to breakthroughs and the end of one chapter so that a new one can begin. Wherever Leo and Aquarius and their rulers, the Sun and Uranus, are found in our charts will give a clue as to what area of our lives may be affected by the eclipses.

The last Eclipse highlighted the South Node of the Moon, which represents the past and is where we tend to feel more comfortable because it is familiar and known. The South Node energy in our charts tends to play out in our childhood and early adulthood until our Saturn Return, which is around 28/29 years old. It is quite possible that we will have been casting our eyes back to the past in recent weeks, since the last eclipse. Memories may be resurfacing that we have long since buried. This next Eclipse is occurring right next to the North Node, which represents potential within us that we need to explore in order to grow and evolve. It often involves us stepping outside of our comfort zone to do so, as we are far more comfortable with the South Node energy and the North Node is unknown territory. As such, this is a time of great soul growth, and we need to be brave and take a huge step forward in our evolution, both personally and collectively.

The Nodes of the Moon are currently in Leo and Aquarius. The South Node is in Aquarius and the North Node is in Leo. This means that we are currently working on cultivating more Leo energy in our lives, allowing ourselves to really shine and express our true, unique nature. The Aquarius South Node shows where we might feel like we stick out like a sore thumb or feel different and unique; as if we don’t fit in. We can sometimes try too hard to fit in, or to please others, so that we dull our light and don’t allow ourselves to truly express all that we are capable of. Aquarius also represents any trauma we might have experienced in this and previous lifetimes. Trauma produces shock, which can make us detach from our emotional body and leave parts of ourselves behind. There are many, many types of trauma and we have all experienced it at some point or another, whether in this lifetime of previous lifetimes. With the North Node on Leo we are being encouraged to reclaim the parts of ourselves that we have left behind. This includes recognising where we may have been playing small and not allowing our true nature and creative potential to shine through in order to gain our parents approval and love.

Eclipses highlight the Nodes of the Moon and this one is definitely asking us to be brave and step forward so that our light can shine brightly. Mars is sitting right next to the North Node in Leo, which calls for us to find courage and assert ourselves, even allowing ourselves to express our anger if needs be. This is definitely showing itself on the collective level, as people are really finding their inner Mars and getting very angry about the state of the world we live in and the people who are leading it. Not to mention how many traumatised people there are on this planet right now. We have every right to be angry and if the anger is used appropriately it can give us the energy to perform amazing feats that we would never have dreamed of before!

Whenever a planet is conjunct the North Node the energy of that planet will be pulling us forward on our path, helping us to integrate the energy of the North Node. In this case, assertive and brave Mars is helping pull us forward towards our Leo nature. This is a time to stand up and express ourselves! If rage comes up, we can use it to motivate us to make change in our lives and for the world at large. This is not a time to hide our light under a bushel. It is time to use Mars and trust our instincts, asserting our needs and even charging into battle if we need to! As we do so we have a chance to take a giant leap forward on our path, both personally and collectively.

Chiron the Wounded Healer is forming an inconjunct aspect to the New Moon, signifying some kind of crisis that could bring up old wounds and trigger our sore spots. Ultimately it will be very healing, but it could also be quite painful. It’s not surprising really, because often where there is growth there is also some degree of pain. We could become all too aware of what we need to change in order to grow and this could cause considerable discomfort and bring up old memories which serve as clues to our current condition. It is also possible that we will be very aware of what is holding us back from shining our light fully, as often it is linked to something that happened in our childhood. It could also be the painful realisation that we have been suppressing part of our true potential, or playing small because one or both of our parents couldn’t cope with that part of us because it reminded them or their unfulfilled potential. All too often we find the disowned or abandoned parts of ourselves irritating or too painful to bear in other people. Ultimately this aspect can help us to unearth some of our true, divine potential, but the process could be a bit painful.

There is a Grand Fire Trine involved with this Eclipse that could definitely get the fires burning and motivate us towards change! Saturn is part of the Trine, so he may help us to stay grounded and prevent the fire from getting out of control. Fire sign energy is very enthusiastic, infectious, passionate, dynamic and inspirational. A good way to sum it up is “Spirit in motion”. As such, thoughts, feelings and ideas could literally spread like wildfire during this Eclipse and we could find ourselves being “all fired up”! Uranus, who is also the ruler of the South Node, is a big player in this Grand Trine as he is forming a very tight aspect to the Sun and Moon. He is also in Aries which is ruled by the brave, assertive, active Mars in Leo mentioned previously. Uranus is the Great Awakener, who can create sudden shocks and upheaval in order to create positive change. He is the rebel, the visionary, the revolutionary and will shake everything up and upset the status quo, especially if it has become stagnant, unhealthy or unfair. Uranus is still next to Eris, a warrior queen who brings chaos and discord and has a tendency to expose hypocrisy and bring about rough, poetic justice and balance. Eris and Uranus’s involvement in the trine could make us very aware of any toxicity or stagnation, both personally and collectively. Not only that, but we will want to do something about it.

Saturn is sitting right next to Black Moon Lilith, in the very same degree, and they are also part of this Grand Fire Trine. Saturn and Black Moon Lilith are not exactly a comfortable fit, as Saturn represents authority, government and the patriarchy, while Black Moon Lilith is the Dark Feminine, who hasn’t traditionally had a good relationship with the patriarchy as she doesn’t take kindly to heavy authority bearing down on her! Lilith is a rebellious energy that can bring up volcanic eruptions of destructive anger, intense passion, emotional manipulation and disordered aggression, but Saturn’s authoritarian energy could repress these emotions and attempt to keep them under control. However, with the trine from Uranus and Eris there is a sense that the dark feminine could be unleashed and that we could use these strong, powerful feelings to empower ourselves and to restore balance to unfair situations, bringing some kind of justice. In the positive, the structuring, realistic power of Saturn and the sharp, fierce, cutting energy of Lilith can help us to see the shadows more clearly, not only in ourselves but also in the power structures and those in authority. There seems to be a theme emerging from this New Moon/Eclipse! Righteous anger and fierce warrior energy abound!

The New Moon is sitting right next to Regulus, a fixed star that is also known as “The Lion’s Heart”. Not surprising, with a name like Regulus, that it represents royalty! When Regulus is positive it represents nobility, frankness and courage. However, when in aspect to Mars, as it is during this Moon, it can cause one to become pompous, using one’s authority in an aggressive and overbearing manner, overly ambitious, demanding recognition, boastful, excessive pride and asserting one’s will and needs in a very extreme way. Leo encourages us to be true to our hearts. The Lion’s Heart is noble, brave and has great strength of spirit. As such, it is important that we listen to our hearts and emulate the positive traits of Regulus during this Moon. Those who don’t could end up paying the price.

There is definitely the potential for us seeing the darker side of Regulus appearing in our world leaders if they identify with its energy too strongly. One such person is Donald Trump, who actually has both Regulus and Mars right next to his Leo Ascendant. As such, the energy of a rather aggressive, pompous, superior Regulus is right there for the whole world to see! This New Moon/Eclipse should have a strong impact on Trump and America in general, because not only is America able see the Eclipse in its entirety, but it is opposite America’s Aquarius Moon and falls right on top of Trump’s Ascendant. Also, the USA has South Node in Aquarius and North Node in Leo. A Total Solar Eclipse is a very dramatic event indeed to see visually, and I’m sure that when people saw one in days gone by that they might have thought it was the end of the world! This one certainly does portend a very big shift, or turning point, though in what way it will manifest remains to be seen. Certainly the energy of this Eclipse could make the shadows more visible and expose any hypocrisy and lies, not to mention that anger could be very prevalent!

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon, at 29° Leo, is: “A mermaid emerges from the ocean waves ready for rebirth in human form”, which Dane Rudyar describes as “The stage at which an intense feeling-intuition rising from the unconscious is about to take form as a conscious thought.” If the ocean represents the thoughts and feelings of the Collective Unconscious, the mermaid represents those thoughts and feelings rising up and taking a more concrete form; finding their way into our conscious awareness. It is a very evocative image, this mermaid emerging, and brings the sense that what has hitherto been unconscious within us all as a collective is now rising up and is ready to find its way towards expression. It feels like a very positive omen for this Eclipse.

Leo encourages us to live from our hearts, follow our bliss and let our lights shine fully and brightly! With Mars helping us along, we could have the courage, energy and motivation to make great changes in our lives during this time. We must not forget that this is a New Moon, which is a time to make wishes and set intentions for ourselves and the world we live in. It is so very important that these intentions come from our hearts, however, because a Total Solar Eclipse is an incredibly potent and powerful New Moon which has the capacity to really shift things for us. Any seeds that we plant during this time will have a more far reaching impact than your average New Moon. An important thing to be aware of is that the Universe, the Creator, God, the Divine, or whatever you want to call it has a tendency to take us quite literally when we ask for things. As such, be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it!

“Your heart knows the way, run in that direction.” Rumi

Some wise words relating to Wednesday’s Pisces Full Moon from my astrologer guru:

PISCES FULL MOON – Wednesday 6 September, exact at 8.02am BST, 3.02am EDT.

This Full Moon has the power to gently yet powerfully transform our lives and help us align with our higher selves. It highlights the healing axis, with the Sun in humble, health-conscious Virgo opposing the Moon in sensitive, compassionate and empathetic Pisces. It is a water sign Full Moon so it could bring some strong emotions to the surface, especially with Pluto, the planet of the soul, playing a big part in the picture. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and brings with it a sense of completion; the end of a cycle of some kind. By the time we reach Pisces we have travelled through the whole zodiac, learning the various lessons of each of the signs and now it is time to surrender, to let go, to dive off the cliff into oneness and unite with God, the Creator, the Source, the Universe, the Divine. However, we need Virgo to help us achieve this state of acceptance and transcendence. A Full Moon asks us to balance the energy of the two signs, as both have a role to play.

With the Sun currently in Virgo, this is the month for cleansing and purifying and “putting our house in order”, both literally and metaphorically. “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” is an ancient proverb that speaks of the need to be clean in both the physical and spiritual sense. Mindfully and lovingly cleaning the dust and dirt from our homes helps clear away negative energy and create a sacred space in order to invite the Divine in. While Pisces represents spiritual transcendence and connection to spirit, Virgo creates healthy routines, diet, meditation techniques and rituals to help us reach that transcendent state. This includes cleaning, which we tend to see as such a chore but if we realised just how important it is we would treat it with more reverence and find more joy in the simple acts such as sweeping and dusting our homes! As we lovingly clear the chi in our external environment, so are we clearing space within ourselves; creating emptiness, free of clutter, debris, chaos and negative energy. Virgo reminds us that cleaning is a form of meditation, except that instead of emptying our mind we are emptying our physical space.

Pisces seeks to dissolve and emotional, physical or spiritual barriers that may be preventing us for merging with the Source, or God. She reminds us that we are not separate, but rather we are all connected and all one, including the trees, plants, rocks, animals, birds, insects, humans; we have all been created from the same source and are all imbued with divine consciousness. The only difference is that a rock may not have the same awareness of being conscious as, say, a dog or a human. However, the Divine is present everywhere and the Creator has unconditional love for all he/she/it has created, whether it be “beautiful,” “ugly,” “perfect” or “flawed” . Virgo’s goal is to humble us and pierce the bubble of self-focus and egocentricity. She seeks to be of service to the whole, and combined with Pisces she seeks to dissolve the ego and allow us to align with Spirit. Virgo’s humility allows us to take a step away from the sense of being a separate being and to truly surrender; to jump off the cliff into the ocean of oneness and unity, where we find unconditional love, inspiration and true empathy and compassion.

Ultimately, as souls, this is what we all seek. However, many of us are completely unaware of this desire to merge with Source and think that the next new car, relationship, job or house is somehow going to bring us the sense of meaning, happiness and peace that we so dearly desire. Except that it never does and so we seek the next thing, and the next thing, until finally we reach a place of disillusionment, whereby we realise that it all doesn’t mean anything and is never going to ultimately fill the void. This is when we reach some degree of heart wisdom and start out on the path away from the ego and its fearful desires and towards a more soulful existence. Pisces and Virgo remind us that helping others and being of service to the whole is far more fulfilling and rewarding than simply serving our own, selfish desires and needs. There really is nothing that makes us feel quite as good as when we have just helped someone, or participated in a humanitarian group endeavour or experience that reminds us that we are all in this together. This Moon invites us to step away from ego and invite in soul. It seeks to dissolve any barriers we have built to separate us from God and All That Is. This could be a bit confusing or disorientating, as is the Pisces way, but at least we will be flowing with the current of the river, in the right direction.

Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, is literally sitting right next to the Moon in Pisces for this lunation, making this an extra specially Piscean affair! This is definitely an ideal time to pay attention to our dreams and to spend time in nature, as well as creating, or praying, or meditating. We could find ourselves more sensitive, empathetic, connected and in tune than usual, though there is also the potential for confusion, delusion and a desire to escape reality! Strange, inexplicable things can happen during a Pisces Full Moon, as well as some utter beauty and magic! Virgo can help us discriminate and discern between fact and fantasy, reality and illusion. With Pisces there is also the potential for us to feel victimised, as if we are at the mercy of fate, but Virgo reminds us that this is also a delusion. We create our own reality and are co-creators of any situation we find ourselves in.

We are invited to decide what old mental, physical or spiritual patterns of behaviour need to be purged or eliminated so that we can progress on our spiritual path. Pluto, the planet of soul, power and transformation is forming a positive aspect to the Sun and Moon, which will certainly help us purge and transform outworn patterns so that we are more in alignment with our true nature. Pluto will help us to face ourselves and recognise what needs to pass away in order to realise our truth. He will help us confront our shadows and allow us to be emotionally honest and vulnerable. He will also help give us the will power to make whatever changes are necessary for us to grow and evolve. Ultimately, however, it’s up to us to do the work. Some deep emotions may surface for us to look at and the sign posts will be there, but it’s our choice as to which direction we decide to go.

This is a time of self-improvement, cleansing, purifying and if we are sincere in our desire to progress and move forward then we have a perfect opportunity to do just that! The Sabian symbol for Neptune, the ruler of the Moon, is 13° Pisces: “An ancient sword, used in many battles, is displayed in a museum” of which Dane Rudyar says: “Will power is the ultimate spiritual weapon, and its undeviating use is the certification of individual worth. Wherever found, this symbol emphasises the imperative need to make use of the will in meeting the basic challenges of the inner life as well as outer adversaries. The individual must use that WILL POWER, yet it is not really his own once he operates at a spiritual level. It is God’s will operating through his mind, which focuses its thrusts.” This symbol seems to be asking us to use our willpower to truly do some profound inner work and cut through the crap, so to speak! This Moon truly has the power to transform our lives and help us to connect with our higher selves. As long as we are able to get out of our own way!

@Stewart
hey Stewart!
so, i’ve been worndering.
do you know anything about September 23rd ?
and do you know anything about planet X? Nibiru? Eris?

Planet X (also known as Nibaru) is a mythical rogue planet (or planetary size object) that some conspiracy theorists believe is due to collide with the Earth in the early years of the 21st Century, thus causing the Apocalypse. Even if it misses Earth, it’s immense gravitational pull will still be enough to trigger catastrophic earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, yadda, yadda, end of the world, death to all the sinners etc etc.

The idea of this rogue planet is so deeply embedded in the subset of conspiracy theorists that believe in it, that they are undeterred by the complete lack of scientific evidence supporting its existence, or even by its continued failure to appear on the dates prophesied by the “High Priests” of this strange cult. The most recent prophesied day of doom was during the recent Solar Eclipse in August, but this has since been pushed back to September 23 2017, based on some numerological hogwash relating to the mystical properties of the number 23.

Sorry for the cynical tone, as I know that there is much about our reality that humans have yet to discover, but this type of superstitious nonsense gets my goat because of the harm it causes to the credulous. For example, I watched a recent TV documentary on Nibaru, and was greatly saddened by the tale of one true believer: a kindly-seeming wife and mother who had sacrificed her marriage, and all her money, because she sincerely believed that Nibaru was due to pass close to Earth on a certain date several years ago. When it failed to appear, she was stunned at the non-event, and now had to deal with the enormous debts she had incurred building an underground shelter and stockpiling food and other resources she thought would help save a small number of people from the devastation. Undeterred, she spent years paying off her debts and continued to plan for the next prophesied appearance of Planet X, somehow convincing her son to join her and help her prepare for the next event.

And so two more lives have essentially been destroyed by an unshakable belief in something invisible and unlikely; for these poor souls Nibaru has already struck and destroyed their lives in every way that matters.

wow what a great summary.

thank you so much for your explanation!

so do you think it’s a mere conspiracy?

so it’s not an actual planet?

September 23rd has a different meaning, actually nothing to do with planet x,
but jupiter going through virgo.
basically the jupiter “king” being in virgo “the virgin”'s belly for 9 moon cycle which is about how long women are pregnant for and at 9/23/17 is when the jupiter finally comes out of virgo.
so there’s some significance to it and I’m not saying it’s the end of the world but I’m trying to see what you know and understand about this sign?

thanks for the planet x explanation btw Hahaha
I loved it!

I’m actually coming to understand that it is more helpful to see Nibiru (and similar irrational beliefs) as not signifying a conspiracy but an archetype, as defined and described by the great psychologist Carl Jung.

In Jungian psychology, archetypes are inherited patterns of thought or symbolic images that are derived from the past collective experience of humanity and are also present in the deep unconscious of individuals. They are like psychic energy patterns or templates embedded so deeply in the collective unconscious that they remain mysterious and unknowable except by the imagery and mythological ideas which have constellated around them over the centuries and millennia of human history and prehistory.

This is far too big a subject to go into here, but just to give you a taste, the following concepts are all manifestations of archetypal images: God, Satan, The Hero, The Mother, The Wise Old Man, The Crone, The Trickster, The Shadow, The Holy Book, The Apocalypse, Heaven, Hell, Science, Magic and so on.

Archetypes are essential to our psychology, and consciousness itself would not be possible without them. They are also immensely powerful, and potentially very dangerous indeed, since, under the right conditions, they are entirely capable of hijacking the psyches of both individuals and entire societies, for good or ill. Think of it as a type of possession by an unearthly spirit; the conscious mind is temporarily (or sometimes permanently) banished into the unconscious depths, replaced by an instinctual or emotional force that can’t be reasoned with.

That is what I believe lies behind the irrational fear of (or in some cases desire for!) an impending Apocalypse, and this is why these beliefs can literally possess certain vulnerable individuals or groups of people in such a strange and seemingly illogical fashion.

And one reason why I find Astrology to be not only fascinating, but also a useful and even practical discipline, is because it essentially provides a working model of Archetypal patterns and processes, based on thousands of years of real world observation and experiment.
