Don’t know how many of you guys have done this, but these are always interesting (because I like numbers!).
Enter your astro into into astro.com and see how much influence each of the planets have in your chart!

Here’s how:

Then you are met with a loooong text file. You can read it if you want, but it’s a very shallow and repetitive machine-generated reading. Just scroll down until you hit a chunk that looks like this:

This is me! It calculates the strength of the plan4ets based on the position in the chart (whether it’s close to an angle, in a compatico house) and the influence/connectiosn it makes to everything else. Maybe to no one’s surprise, I am VERY LEO (rank 1) and my major planet is THE SUN (rank 1)!!! However, my chart “ruler” is typically Venus because of my Taurus rising, yet it is in 4th place in terms of influence (rank 4). Co-ruler is Saturn based on decant of rising sign, but it too has even less influence (rank 7).

What’s surprising for me? How much the Moon (rank 2) and Cancer (rank 2) have an influence on my chart! Must be all the bodies stuffed into the 4th house! Perhaps I have some access to that Fe power after all (I actually am suepr affectionate to my close family members, many hugs and kisses for all!). ;D Second surprise is how much PLUTO (rank 3) and Scorpio (rank 4) have influence over my chart! Intensified Fi maybe! I did always feel an affinity for scorpionic destructions, so maybe this is why!

I dunno how Libra wedged itself between Cancer and Scorpio in ranking, but ok… maybe that gives me some diplomacy…
My husband on the other hand is like Sagittarius, then Libran, then Scorpion with high Venus, Pluto, then Jupiter. Quite a lack of earth between us! lol

So how do any of your rankings look? Any pleasant or unpleasant surprises?

I did this earlier this morning and am still trying to figure it all out :no_mouth: I’m surprised that Mars was my dominant planet and Aquarius my dominant sign…it’s very masculine, right? Forceful…

No surprise there about Saturn being my dominant planet… If i had to pick one word to describe myself, it would be restraint:stuck_out_tongue:

What DID surprise me was how important Uranus/Aquarius turned out to be… Like WTF… i don’t feel at all like a rebel :stuck_out_tongue: but i do hate being unoriginal, or, in Blake’s words… I hate being a cliche… lol…

Very little fire for an intuitive…

Look at my Aries… pathetic… no wonder i always fall for Aries peeps…

Does the Leo influence show at all in my personality?

These computer-generated fancy charts can be a trap for tertiary Ti, as they look so logical and detailed.

But even a good computer program can’t synthesise a chart like a human can. In your case, @piggie, just a quick look at your chart shows a stronger introverted Fire influence than suggested by these numbers. Here are the chart indicators

Chart ruler Venus is in Leo trine Moon in Sagittarius (1st part of Sag -= Ni).
Jupiter is also in Leo and rules the Sag Moon.

Earth is also strongly emphasised, but Saturn is less powerful than it first appears. Even though it’s in Capricorn, it’s hidden away in the 4th house (not good for Saturn!) and overpowered by soggy Neptune closely conjunct the IC. Mercury in Virgo would be a major factor as it rules the Virgo Sun, but it is both retrograde and placed in an unsupportive house (the 12th). Bit like being stuck in a swamp for poor Mercury!

The other two elements are much weaker than either Fire or Earth.

The Moon is actually a lot stronger than the Sun in your chart, so all this supports the Ni-dom/Se-inferior of an INFJ type.

I have a similar Fire/Earth combo, and in my case it adds considerable strength to my inferior Se function. However, because of your Virgo Sun and Taurus Mars, you may also possess a strong Si function (even though it may be deeply buried in your unconscious). Your chart is deeply intuitive in so many ways and the Earth emphasis helps to keep your intuitions grounded and relevant.

Ohhh wow this makes a lot of sense! The inferior Se part just suddenly fell into place… Thank You

And yes… i think the Si rears its head in the form of little annoying quirks…

Check out my recent comments to @Anais re: Capricorn as well, since this might also apply to you as well, with all those Devilish planets at the bottom of your chart :smiling_imp:

i think this is important. nothing wrong with using these stats for fun but i think they increase the chance of unhelpful skepticism about astrology.

the truth is we are very literally the stories we tell ourselves, the memories we hold onto, the meaning we assign to the events of our life. and i am recognizing value in natal charts comes for me from noticing which aspects appear. The meaning and truth is going to show up in my mind.

im a novice at believing astrology is significant and so this is a weak articulation of my growing view.
