There’s yer wolf, pla.
I was listening to this in bed last night. No wonder I couldn’t sleep, my soul was being penetrated by violins and an assortment of heavenly strings.
Max Richter never fails in that regard.
On the flipside of the tape, here’s some Skinnyman
@supernokcturnal you got great taste in tunes. Thanks for bringing up Alina Baraz, I love her music! Didn’t know anyone else who listens to her.
One of my Baraz favs:
The ending is pure magic-gold
Hey, just spotted your reply, @pla.xitore13!
Thanks for the thumbs up! I’m not always confident that people will share my eclectic musical tastes, so try to choose the more accessible tunes. Maybe I should be a bit more daring, like some of the other folk who’ve posted in this thread? I know I always enjoy checking out their recommendations.
I’ve not explored Industrial as a genre as such, but it’s highly likely that some industrial tunes have crossed my radar, so I’ll see if I can source any recommendations.
And I haven’t heard of Aphex Twin, but I’ll be sure to check them out!
Same here. However, I’m always curious to know what anyone who likes electronic music thins of Aphex (I’ve jokingly compared his musical genius as the new 20-21st century J.S. Bach because he’s prolific and was the leader of developing processed-based music software that’s based on the principles of mutation: https://www.engadget.com/2014/12/29/aphex-twin-mutation-music-software/) I digress here are some of my favorites, I hope you and others enjoy them too!
From his most recent album Syro(2014)
"XMAS EVET10 (thanaton3 mix)"
"4 bit 9d api+e+6 [126.26]"
@anhydrite, I like covered songs too. I saw you had Kurt. There are a lot of 60s covered songs by grunge bands. There is one I really like, but can’t remember it exactly. I will search for it. I think it was that song…”my little runaway, my run, run, run, run, runaway…”. Hmmm…
Also, I don’t listen to too much new stuff these days. But! I came across this yesterday and now it’s on repeat.
AHA!!! I freakin found it!!! And it just came to me. First of all, I love this song. It makes me cry every time I hear it. Every time. Cover.
There is no second of all.
You need to watch and listen. Your life depends on it. Also, great song. Balls deep lyrics about one of my favorite physical attributes. I’m pretty sure I was supposed to be born a few decades earlier.
Sorry, not sorry. In a musical mood tonight.
Here’s a brilliant version of The Logical Song from the talented Athena Reich:
@Ankh, Athena also does a decent Marilyn Monroe impersonation:
And here’s the real Marilyn in a classic scene from my all-time favourite movie, Some Like It Hot
Athena is pretty cool.
Some Like it Hot - yeah I love that one. And that dress! Holy tits, Marilyn! Of course I also really like Gentleman Prefer Blondes. Marilyn is actually funny in that one. She does an impersonation of someone with a cold in one scene. And all the singing and dancing… good stuff. Love Marilyn! Thank you for sharing, @Stewart.
The scenes with Jack Lemmon and his “boyfriend” are priceless!
Here’s what happened after the Tango:
And here’s how “Daphne” and Osgood’s romance concluded (spoiler alert: don’t watch this if you haven’t seen the movie!):
Baby got soul
Love the funky soul. And tbh, I am jealous of that fro, yo. I wish I could have a fro.
